Sandboxx Announces Strategic Technology Collaboration to Strengthen Marine Corps Objectives
Arlington, VA, April 30th – Through a contract with Marine Corps Community Services, Sandbox Family Communications, Inc., an Arlington, VA based company will now deliver relevant content and technology that supports the Marine Corps community.
When a service member is at boot camp, basic training, or deployed – staying connected with family and friends is an important morale booster. Founded by Marine Corps Veterans Sam Meek and Major General Ray “E-Tool” Smith (USMC Ret.), Sandboxx technology and services ultimately aim to maintain connections among service members and their families, and to ensure that each service member is supported throughout their military journey.
“Recruits perform at higher levels in boot camp when they receive encouraging letters and photos from loved ones at home. With Sandboxx web and mobile applications, users can type a message from their phone, add a photo and hit send. Sandboxx will securely print the message and deliver it to the recruit or Marine, usually on the next business day.”, stated MajGen Smith (USMC Ret.). Sandboxx also includes a self-addressed return envelope so that it is easier for recipients to reply, whether at boot camp or in the field.
Sandboxx provides video training content to future Marines prior to boot camp in order to assist with physical and mental preparation. Friends and family who use Sandboxx to send mail to recruits also receive in-app content including, up-to- date information on what recruits are doing weekly at boot camp, the best ways to support their loved one during their military journey, during basic training and beyond, as well as information regarding relevant MCCS programs, products, and services.
“Since launching in November 2014, Sandboxx has delivered over one million letters to those at boot camp and deployed overseas from their friends and loved ones.”, stated Shane McCarthy, Chief Marketing Officer of Sandboxx. “Our training and military content has been viewed by hundreds of thousands of users. This contract
enables us to further scale our content, technology and platform.”
By collaborating with Sandboxx, MCCS is helping to connect the Marine Corps community, while extending MCCS services, resources and support to Marines and their families throughout their entire service or affiliation with the United States Marine Corps.
Sandboxx is available to download for free from the Google Play Store, Apple App Store or the Sandboxx website at www.sandboxx.us. The service is available to service members of all branches, future service members, their families and friends.
